Steps to Starting a Business Within a Single Day

Offer Valid: 04/12/2022 - 05/31/2024

Starting your own business can be exciting, but it can also be intimidating, especially if you’re not sure where to start or how to prioritize your time effectively. Below are some steps to starting a business within a single day, from beginning to end.

10:00 a.m. - 11:30 A.m. — Brainstorm Business Ideas

While it’s fun to dream big, it’s usually a good idea to aim small and work your way up. Brainstorm at least 10 business ideas. It might be tempting to overcomplicate things with 10 interconnected revenue streams, but you don’t want to overwhelm yourself; aim for quick wins.

11:30 a.m. - 12:30 P.m. — Write Down Your Lifestyle Goals

Write down your lifestyle goals. These should be long-term goals listed in order of importance to ensure they don’t limit what type of business you can start.

12:30 p.m. - 1:30 P.m. — Decide How Much Money You Need

Now it’s time to figure out how much money you need to make. Setting concrete financial goals for your business makes it easier for you to see if you’re moving in the right direction, and it can help motivate you if things get tough along the way. Make sure your financial goals are specific and measurable.

1:30 p.m. - 2:30 A.m. — Set Up Your Finances

You’ll need a bank account for your business. If you don’t already have one, open a bank account online, or use a personal account. Either way, be sure that you set up direct deposits so you can start receiving income into your new business account. Just about every bank offers these services online now, and if yours doesn’t, find one that does.

2:30 a.m. - 3:30 P.m. — Get Customers Fast

It’s time to start marketing. Reach out to friends, family, and former co-workers on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are all great ways to find new customers), but don’t neglect paid channels like Google Ads. Paid ads can generate results quickly.

3:30 p.m. - 4:30 P.m. — Hire Freelancers

Having a personal assistant for your business might sound outside of your budget, but sites like Upwork and Fiverr let you find freelancers for almost any project. If you need help finding customers or attracting followers for your social media channels, consider hiring freelancers for these jobs, too.

4:30 p.m. - 5:00 P.m. — Pick Tools To Help

There are hundreds of budgeting and time-tracking apps out there — each offering solutions for staying on point. With plenty of documents floating around for a project, it's hard to keep everything organized — but not if you compress PDF. Merge them all and put them in one electronic file. You'll never struggle to find what you're looking for again.

Achieve Business Success

By carefully outlining your plan, setting realistic goals, and getting help from qualified freelancers, you’ll be able to achieve success at lightning speed.
