Description
The Director of Program Development, Workforce Education, develops, implements, evaluates, administers, and supports workforce programs, including credit-bearing initiatives, that impact industry and businesses, aiming to reduce barriers to employment.
The position will collaborate with the Dean of Workforce Education and other leaders in designing and implementing broader strategic goals, such as incubating pilot programs and identifying synergies among programs. This position will identify industry needs and develop opportunities to serve and support students and employers through academic programs and experiential learning chances.
The Director will bring significant strategic leadership, project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills to newly organized teams and pilot programs. The Director will align organizations in the private and public sectors to leverage resources, including creating partnerships that support student experiential learning, such as apprenticeships and internships, to build the College's brand.

This position is partially Grant-Funded.
Examples of Duties
Essential Functions/Duties:
Strategically develop, launch, and manage the expansion and delivery of new and existing workforce education programs, including experiential learning (internships, apprenticeships, credit for prior learning, etc.), providing beyond-the-classroom learning and career opportunities.
Drive the design and implementation of a comprehensive workforce education curriculum that integrates academic education, certificates, credentials, and learner employability with particular emphasis on building internal/external relationships and partnerships.
Cultivate and maintain relationships to provide thought partnerships for workforce education and the integration of programmatic efforts and resources into new and existing initiatives that impact secondary and post-secondary  academic institutions, businesses, and local, regional, state, and federal government agencies.
Oversee the gathering of strategic information and data to assess workforce education needs, including enrollment, progression, retention goals, and degree completion.
Collect, analyze, and leverage data and stakeholder feedback loops (internal/external) to evaluate and improve the quality, impact, and relevance of workforce education programs, track and evaluate key metrics, and recommend improvements to existing programs or the creation of new ones.
Innovate and revise curricula to reflect emerging trends in workforce education, driving continuous improvement.
Establish quality assurance processes, including program evaluations, pilot testing, and fidelity monitoring, to refine content and impact in workforce education programs and projects.

Consulting Tasks:
Consults with vice presidents, provosts, deans, and other directors and supervisors.
Works with students and faculty on experiential learning programs.
Works with community and industry stakeholders to develop programs.

Typical Qualifications
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to employ a data-driven and result-oriented approach to decision-making and program evaluation. Experience working with government agencies, local workforce development boards (LWDBs), and other organizations, preparing the College to offer education in existing and emerging fields.
Extensive experience in and keen understanding of workforce education, including managing academic and industry-led, worker-centric programs.
Experience in strategic and academic workforce program development, implementation, and coordination to drive program growth and meet goals in credit-bearing offerings.
Deep experience with and understanding of the educational landscape at all levels, including K-12 education, career and technical education (CTE), and the adult education system.
Experience with designing, developing, managing, and overseeing large-scale programs focused on workforce education.
Working knowledge of the state and federal workforce system and local workforce development boards.
Ability to guide, manage, direct, and execute, with the drive to establish early wins and advance a progressive program impact approach.
Capacity to oversee and facilitate meetings with individuals at all levels of management and responsibility.
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, decentralized organizational structures, balancing multiple priorities and engaging cross-functional teams to drive alignment and execution while meeting project deadlines.
Working familiarity with organizational contracts, budgets, project plans, and proposals for funding opportunities
Adaptable, ability to lead change, and solid interpersonal communication skills (written/verbal).
Familiarity with proposal writing, grants, meeting deadlines, and presentation skills
Working Conditions:
This position is a full-time on-campus position but will travel to other campuses and community locations as necessary. (Remote/hybrid options are not available.)
Weekend and evening work may be required.
Position may be required to work during College closures (such as winter/spring break and inclement weather closures).
Reliable transportation is required for travel to campuses, centers, and community locations. Possession of a valid Florida’s Driver’s License is required (or must be eligible to obtain a Florida’s license within 30 days).

Required Experience:
Five years of workforce education background with demonstrated program development experience, employer/community outreach, management, and/or leadership.
Three years of experience in designing and developing curriculum and curriculum frameworks.
Preferred Experience:
A background in adult education, including project management, experiential learning (apprenticeships, internships, work study, co-op, etc.), and assessment in a results-driven environment preferred.
Two years of project or program management experience.
