About Us
The 11-1-11 Legacy Foundation Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth, inspiring non-violent community leadership, and creating clear pathways to higher education across Lake Wales and Polk County.
Founded on the principle that every young person deserves a strong support system, our mission centers on actionable community engagement, positive sportsmanship, academic advancement, and youth mentorship. We work directly with local families, schools, and community leaders to build safe, uplifting environments where middle and high school students can thrive both on and off the court.
Our flagship community initiative, the 1st Annual Mel-V Day Youth Festival & Scholarship Showcase, brings together over 2,500 residents, student-athletes, local vendors, and civic leaders at Lake Wailes Park. Featuring a county-wide 3-Point Shootout, local vendor marketplace, public safety engagement, and direct college scholarship awards, our programming actively invests in the future of our youth while strengthening community unity.
In partnership with local businesses, corporate sponsors, and civic organizations, The 11-1-11 Legacy Foundation continues to expand access to educational resources, athletic development, and positive leadership opportunities for the next generation of Polk County leaders.
