About Us
The Vanguard School is an independent, nonprofit boarding and day school located in Lake Wales, Florida, serving students in grades 6–12 who learn differently. Vanguard specializes in personalized education for students with learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, and autism spectrum profiles.
Founded in 1966, Vanguard provides a supportive, structured environment where students build academic skills, confidence, and independence. Small class sizes, individualized instruction, and a dedicated faculty ensure each student receives the attention and guidance they need to succeed.
Set on a 77-acre campus, Vanguard offers a well-rounded experience that includes academics, athletics, performing arts, outdoor activities, and social development. Guided by values of integrity, empathy, resilience, and leadership, Vanguard prepares students for success in higher education and independent adult life. The school is fully accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and Cognia.
