AdventHealth and local Seventh-day Adventist Churches unite for worship service and free community h

SEBRING, Fla. (Friday, September 19, 2025) -- In a powerful demonstration of faith and service, AdventHealth and six local Adventist churches in Highlands and Hardee Counties will unite for a day dedicated to whole-person care and community healing.

“A Day of Wholeness” embodies the shared mission of AdventHealth and the Adventist Church: to extend the healing ministry of Christ into our communities. The event on Saturday, September 27, 2025, will include a collective worship service, followed by free community health fairs at several locations in Sebring, Avon Park, Lake Placid and Wauchula.

All participating churches will gather together for a Sabbath worship service at the Alan Jay Wildstein Performing Arts Center at South Florida State College at 10 a.m. The service will be led by church leaders and AdventHealth executives.

Following the service, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, AdventHealth volunteers and church members will offer a wide range of health services to all community members at Sebring Circle Park, AdventHealth Lake Placid Hospital, AdventHealth Wauchula Hospital, and Union Church in Avon Park. The free health services include Diabetes screening & education, Hypertension screening (BP, Weight, BMI), Skin checks, Pediatric health services, Women’s health services, and more. The Union Church site in Avon Park will also host a food distribution event in partnership with the United Way’s End Hunger initiative.
“This day will be an amazing expression of our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ. By joining with our local churches and volunteers, we’re not only offering free, vital health services, we’re also offering compassion, healing, hope and connection,”AdventHealth Sebring, Wauchula and Lake Placid President and CEO Jason Dunkel said. “We love being part of the Highlands and Hardee County communities and we are honored to provide exceptional, whole-person care to everyone who calls it home.”
