AdventHealth names Mike Murrill President and CEO of AdventHealth Polk Market, serving growing Polk County communities
DAVENPORT, Fla., (Wednesday, August 12, 2026) — With Polk County projected to surpass one million residents by 2030, AdventHealth is preparing for continued growth in demand for healthcare services by naming veteran health care leader Mike Murrill president and CEO of AdventHealth Polk Market, which includes AdventHealth Heart of Florida and AdventHealth Lake Wales.
Murrill will oversee operations, strategic planning and growth initiatives for the hospitals as they continue expanding services for residents across one of Florida’s fastest growing regions. He brings more than 20 years of AdventHealth leadership experience to the Polk Market, where he will oversee strategic planning, operations and growth initiatives for the two hospitals while supporting caregivers who serve communities throughout Polk County. He recently met with local government and community leaders during a special event held at AdventHealth Heart of Florida.

Murrill succeeds Tim Clark, who has accepted a new role as regional CEO for the Tampa Bay Metro Region within AdventHealth’s West Florida Division. During his tenure, Clark helped guide significant growth across the Polk Market, positioning AdventHealth Heart of Florida and AdventHealth Lake Wales to continue expanding services and access to care for residents. Murrill previously served as president and CEO of AdventHealth Zephyrhills and AdventHealth Connerton in Pasco County and provided executive oversight and support for AdventHealth Dade City. Since joining AdventHealth’s West Florida Division, he has led strategic growth initiatives, operational improvements and team member engagement efforts while advancing AdventHealth’s mission throughout the region.
Murrill began his AdventHealth career more than two decades ago as an administrative resident, building a foundation of servant leadership that has guided his work across multiple hospitals and communities.
