Polk State Prepares for 38th Annual FallFest

Thursday, August 29, 2024 — The smell of pumpkin spice and cinnamon brooms might not be in the air quite yet, but it’s not too early for vendors to reserve their spot for Polk State College’s 2024 FallFest.

For nearly four decades, the annual event has been a staple of the community. This year’s event on Polk State’s Winter Haven Campus takes place on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This will mark the event’s 38th year. Last year, more than125 locals, businesses, and College clubs set up booths across campus with exciting, seasonal, and innovative homemade arts, crafts, and products.

“FallFest is one of Polk State’s signature events that people look forward to every year,” said Nancy Lozell, Program Manager for The Arts at Polk State. “The unique crafts, the activities, the way people flock to our Winter Haven Campus – there’s nothing quite like it.”

The event is free and open to the public with fees from craft booths going to the Polk State College Foundation to benefit the College’s deserving students. The Foundation supports the College’s educational mission in many ways, including establishing scholarships and purchasing equipment for students.

The event will also feature family-friendly activities such as games, haunted houses, bounce houses, shows, and presentations from local law enforcement and EMS. Polk State College clubs and athletics programs will also participate in the event to raise money for their organizations by hosting different activities and food sales.

The Chain O’ Lakes Big Band and Polk State Jazz Ensemble headline this year’s entertainment. The event will also feature performances from local student dance teams, choirs, and musicians. Last year’s event featured the first FallFest Car Show.

For $60, vendors will be assigned a booth on campus. Limited spots are available inside the Student Center for $70. For business vendors looking to promote their business, the cost is $100.

Registration for a booth will remain open until Oct. 8. Click here to register for FallFest. For more information, contact Lozell at 863.297.1050 or by emailing fallfest@polk.edu.
