Webber International University Celebrates Founder’s Day with Annual Luncheon and State of the University Address
Babson Park, FL (April 10, 2026)- Webber International University continued its Founder’s Day celebration, officially observed on April 6, with its annual Founder’s Day Luncheon on April 8, bringing together alumni, donors, and community partners for fellowship and reflection on the institution’s progress and future.
The event featured the annual State of the University address delivered by Webber President Dr. Nelson Marquez, who outlined his seven strategic visions for the institution. Dr. Marquez highlighted continued momentum in both academic and athletic initiatives that support Webber’s long-term growth and student success. On the academic front, he emphasized progress toward programmatic accreditation for the University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapist Assistant programs, reinforcing Webber’s commitment to workforce readiness and academic excellence. Athletically, Dr. Marquez recognized a strong year across multiple programs, citing notable success in baseball, football, lacrosse, bowling, and golf.
The program also included special recognition from Mr. James Ring, Outreach Director for U.S. Congressman Scott Franklin, who presented a congratulatory letter honoring Webber International University’s 99th year and its lasting impact on the surrounding community. As part of the celebration, the University spotlighted alumni Omar DeJesus, Finance Director (CFO) for the City of Haines City, and Gabe Segarra, Communications & Engagement Assistant for the City of Lake Wales, recognizing their professional accomplishments and dedication to public service.
The luncheon was generously sponsored by longtime University supporters, the Costanzo family, through the Jessica Costanzo Scholarship Fund, whose continued commitment helps expand educational opportunities for Webber students.
As Webber International University continues its Founder’s Day celebration and prepares for its centennial year, supporters are encouraged to contribute to the institution’s mission. Donations may be made at https://www.webber.edu/donate-button/.
