Webber International University Holds 2025 Convocation Ceremony

Babson Park, FL. (August 21, 2025)- As Webber International University prepares to launch its 2025–2026 academic year on August 25th, approximately 120 employees—including faculty, staff, and coaches—came together to celebrate the achievements of the previous year and set the tone for the year ahead.

The agenda featured departmental updates from campus leadership and a professional development session led by Dr. Abby Hamilton, a three-time TEDx presenter and published author.

Continuing a tradition from previous years, President and CEO Dr. Nelson Marquez announced the theme for the academic year: Writing a New Chapter: Redefining Our Purpose and Forging New Paths.

Acknowledging the challenges many institutions face in today’s evolving economic landscape, Dr. Marquez stated, “What is more important than anything else is that we are still here today, fulfilling our mission of providing quality education to our students.”

He added, “I truly believe that by leveraging the positive attributes of our Webber Way, we can make things happen here!”

Alicia O’Neal, a staff member who oversees campus facilities, was honored as Employee of the Year in recognition of her consistent dedication and exceptional service to the institution.
